Posted May 01, The Supreme Court has released photographs of the weaponry made by one of the teenagers who threatened to carry out a school massacre in the Riverland. The court granted the ABC's request for the photographs, which were taken by police and submitted as evidence, as it prepares to sentence the two young men. In March, they both pleaded guilty to a downgraded charge of aggravated threatening life. The young men, who were aged 16 and 18 at the time, admitted to threatening to kill or endanger the lives of staff and students at a Riverland school in October During a pre-sentencing hearing last month, the court heard the younger teen was obsessed with weapons and had an extensive array of homemade knives as well as crude body armour he had built from shopping trolleys. However, his lawyer Steven Millsteed QC told the court his client always wanted to be a blacksmith and had made the weapons as part of his "metal fabrication hobby". However, Mr Millsteed said his client had no intention of using the guns to harm anyone and just wanted to pose with them on social media so that others would see him and his friend as "people to be reckoned with".
